Birds of a Feather (BOAF) Al-Anon is a supportive community for aviation families navigating the challenges of addiction.
Birds of a Feather International was created to provide a safe space for PILOTS and COCKPIT crew members to discuss the issue of addiction to alcohol with both anonymity and openness.
In 2022, Birds of a Feather, or BOAF Al-Anon, was established by a group of dedicated members from the Aviation Family community who saw the need for an organization focused on supporting individuals within these unique aviation families.
This Al-Anon meeting of Birds of a Feather is specifically designed to cater to the distinct needs of family members of pilots whose lives have been impacted by alcoholism. Furthermore, BOAF Al-Anon offers essential support to our sober pilot members who may be parents of alcoholics or adult children of alcoholics.
Recognizing the unique pressures faced by aviation families, BOAF Al-Anon meets regularly to create a forum where both recovery and the specific challenges related to aviation families can be discussed without reservation.
